A commission for 'The Pleasure Dome':
The golden painting, a piece inspired by and created for The Pleasure Dome’s single ‘This room is for gold and there is no use for it’ highlights a frustrating suffocation that comes with never feeling good enough. The flowers in a vase (a token of love and passion) are replaced with hands; one of the most expressive parts of the human body. They appear wilted and discoloured, portraying a cluster of anxieties with strong undertones of heartbreak. A dark narrative dressed in rich gold coincides the single’s heartfelt lyrics and upbeat melody. These emotions are presented to the listener/viewer as an attempt of letting go of the demons that are confronted through the heartache of a losing battle.

DEACTIVATE ME

Imagine having the ability to block out certain characteristics of the ones you love and they could do the same to you. Imagine if those personality traits would rest in a virtual ‘library’ until they are next activated; though after a while they would be forgotten; everyone would end up with the same traits and values; meaning the portal to imperfections would remain buried in a graveyard of the altered past.

Tainted with a grey depression,
the blue paint on the walls attacks even the tallest of spaces.
The wall running along the bed frame reveals an under-layer; a tortured orange, a restricted creativity screaming for a chance to release it's warmth.
Nothing dares to move from the spot it was by chance assigned to.
If these 4 walls were mine, I would go looking for anything but this false hope of a colour.
A yellow cut out of a bird preys for freedom.
It is heading in the direction of chaos; but it seems so beautiful from a far.
A linear flight path would result in the suffocating grip of a reptiles fixation, not to be mistaken for a mutual fixation on one another.
The selfish indulgence of a molly coddler; his panic is greater than that of the victim, because by now they are comfortably numbed in his cold loving grip.
